This is the last Shabbos for Bnos for this season. Special thanks to Leeba Grunstein for organizing Bnos and to the Bnos Leaders: Aliza Miriam Maslov, Nomi Shira Maslov, and Deena Zamler.
Yom Iyun
On Sunday, May 6, there will be a Yom Iyun, day of learning, for women at Community Synagogue of Monsey in the Blumenfeld Family Social Hall. Speakers will include Mrs. Leah Herzog, speaking on “Shma B’Kolah: Making the Difficult Decisions” and Mrs. Shifra Schapiro, speaking on “A Fifth Mother? Ruth and the Imahot”. There will be light refreshments & introductions at 9:15 A.M, followed by the formal program from 9:45 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. In lieu of admission fee, donations can be made to a charity to be determined.
Yom Yerushalayim
On Yom Yerushalayim, Sunday, May 13, at Congregation Bais Torah, following Mincha at 7 PM, The Prime Ministers, a film based on Ambassador Yehuda Avner’s best-selling book, will be shown. It is sponsored by the Schloss Family in commemoration of the first Yahrzeit of Jack Wimmer, z"l.
Annual Shul Dinner
This year, the guests of honor for our 38th Annual Shul Dinner will be Malka and Stu Serkin and Menachem Ickovitz. The Serkins will be receiving the Ohr Chadash Award. Menachem will be receiving the Ahavas Torah Award. The Dinner will take place at Congregation Shaarey Israel in Montebello on Sunday, May 27th. It will be part of a celebration of the continuity of our Shul.
On Shabbos, the 26th, we will be having a Kiddush in honor of Rabbi Cohen's 25 years of service to the Shul and at the Dinner, we will be acknowledging Rabbi Cohen's years of service.
